In 1861, the band received a prestigious honor: General Giuseppe Govone, then a resident of the beautiful Villa Govone, was so impressed by their artistry that he gifted the musicians their very first uniforms. 

Today, the band continues to thrive, evolving from an all-male ensemble in the early 20th century to a modern, inclusive orchestra where nearly 40% of the musicians are talented women. In 2011, it was officially recognized as part of Italy’s intangible cultural heritage, a true badge of honor for the residents of Loveno.

• National Finalists: Recently, in 2026, the Corpo Musicale di Loveno reached the finals in prestigious national competitions dedicated to the promotion of Italian popular and amateur music, organized by the MAECI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation). This achievement is a testament to the ensemble’s high technical level and artistic dedication on a national scale.

• Intangible Cultural Heritage: In 2011, the band received the prestigious recognition of being officially designated as part of Italy’s intangible cultural heritage. This remains their most significant honor, rightfully placing them among the most representative and historically important band institutions in the Italian tradition.

• Sunday, August 23, 2026: A unique “itinerant concert” starting at 09:00 at Casa Volta. The band will wind through the charming streets of Loveno, greeting guests and locals with their signature sounds—a perfect way to enjoy the morning air.
• Sunday, August 30, 2026: A grand finale performance in Piazza Garibaldi, Menaggio, at 21:00.
